Quality
Terra Felis is the first wet cat food in which all ingredients are 100% human-grade. The recipes are developed together with our vets and produced in our own factory. With Terra Felis we are bringing the quality of cat food back to the level of nature.
Some of our Terra Felis menus contain two different protein sources to provide a more varied diet for your cat. The use of two types of meat offers several advantages, such as a wider range of amino acids and a greater variety of flavours. The only exception is cats with food intolerances or allergies. In such cases, it is essential that they are fed only one protein source for the long term.
Yes, all Terra Felis menus are developed, controlled and produced together with master butchers in our factory near Munich.
Most of our Terra Felis menus are complete foods, which means that they meet the needs of cats. Despite the high quality raw materials and gentle manufacturing process, vitamins can be lost, which is why they are added.
Cats are unable to produce the amino acid taurine as part of their metabolism. The nitrogenous amino acid taurine is particularly important for the health of a cat's eyes and heart. A lack of taurine can lead to vision problems and even blindness. Taurine deficiency can also cause life-threatening heart problems.
Unlike dogs, cats are strict carnivores. They need a high protein content and special amino acids in their food. These so-called essential amino acids are: arginine, taurine, methionine and cystine.

In general, healthy cats can eat two sources of protein in a meal without any problem. This is usually only a problem for cats with intolerances or allergies. In these cases, it is best to stick to a single protein source. Ultimately, a healthy cat's taste preferences will determine whether it prefers a single or combined protein source.
There is a recommended amount on each can. However, this is only a recommendation and will vary according to your cat's individual metabolism, activity level and lifestyle. For example, there are very active cats who are out and about all day, and then there are cats who prefer to take it easy - with big differences in energy requirements. It is always a good idea to check your pet's weight regularly after a change in diet. This will quickly tell you if the cat is maintaining its weight on the current amount of food, or if, for example, the desired weight loss has been achieved.
A change of diet should always be made slowly over a period of 7-10 days. The amount of the new food should be mixed with the familiar food in small portions at first and increased slowly each day until the previous food has been discontinued.
Vegetables provide fibre, vitamins and minerals that can help promote healthy digestion and overall health. However, as cats are mainly meat eaters, a small amount of vegetables is sufficient.
Once opened, the tin should be kept in the fridge covered with a lid. The tin should be fed within 4 days.
Yes, there is a special line for kittens. Kittens should be fed kitten food until 10-12 months of age. It is important for kittens to receive a special diet to support their healthy growth and development. Our Kitten line provides a complete meal with high quality animal proteins, essential nutrients and healthy oils. It is recommended to follow the nutritional recommendations and adjust the food according to the age and weight of the kitten.
Older cats can be fed Terra Felis unless they are on a special diet for medical reasons (e.g. kidneys).
Firstly, medical causes such as dental problems or organic causes should be ruled out by a vet. If there are no medical problems, the food can be warmed to a lukewarm temperature. This reminds cats of the body heat of a freshly hunted prey and often leads to better acceptance.
Ordering, transportation and delivery
The insides of our tins are coated in a plastic layer, meaning that no harmful substances can leak into the contents. This plastic coating also means that even if the tin is dented, there is no longer any cause to worry. The tins that we use are not pet food tins as is normal for cat and dog food, but human-grade food tins. These tins are normally used for food such as soups, etc. We regarded the internal coating as necessary to guarantee a flawless product due to the possible penetration of heavy metals from the can. A high-quality coating means that no heavy metals can leak into the product even if the tin is damaged. We can confirm that no phthalates (plasticisers) are used in the paints and sealants we use. Bisphenol A is used in the resin of the interior paint systems. There is a Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1895/2005 dated 18 November 2005 on the restriction of the use of certain epoxy derivatives in materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. Migration limits for BADGE and some of its derivatives: 9 mg / 6 dm. The amounts found in our products fall well below these values. This is why we have had expert reports commissioned for all the paints we use. We also confirm that the water-soluble rebate sealing compound used by us complies with the requirements in accordance with Art. 3 Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 and section 30 as well as section 31 (1) of the Foodstuffs and Consumer Goods Act (LMBG), if it is used as part of a consumer good in the sense of section 5 (1) LMBG. If the tin has not been pierced and the food smells normal, you can feed the contents without hesitation.
